On February 27, 2025, Riccardo Guerzoni participated to the O-RAN 6G Workshop “Reflection on the Eve of 6G”.
Riccardo Guerzoni, Director of the Core Network Group at DOCOMO Euro-Labs, provided a presentation on the topic “Squaring the 6G circle: enabling sustainable service innovation”. The new capabilities specified by ITU-R for IMT-2030 (6G) challenge the telco ecosystem to design effective network architecture solutions. Meanwhile, 5G Standalone deployments struggle to fly. To make 6G a success, the telco ecosystem needs to offer innovative communication services while ensuring cost effectiveness and environmental sustainability. In his presentation, Mr. Guerzoni shared key design principles and new service opportunities by which future 6G mobile networks can address these challenges.
Mr. Guerzoni participated also to the panel discussion moderated by Dr. Chih-Lin I (China Mobile) at the end of the workshop.
